Day 86

Scripture of the Day: Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. Isaiah 65:17

Finally at 3 today I get a call from a realtor who wants to show the house tomorrow! God Bless her for giving me 24 hour notice! I should have been working, but too tired and sick! I have a stomach virus, but the kids are finally getting better. They ran very low fevers today. We tried to rest and do nothing. They played and played so hard that Jon threw up!

Mady slept till 10 this morning and her appetite seems to be coming back. Jon woke up extra early and is grouchy. Sometimes he cries like a newborn!

Mady and Jonny dancing in the kitchen!

Wayne came home with Sprite and mashed potatoes for me! Thank goodness for Churches Chicken!

We had a rain storm so no yard work, but it is what it is!

God Bless!

Day 85

Scripture of the Day: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. 1 Chronicles 16:10

Will have to add the scripture later, I can't see in the dark to find one. Today, we had a realtor come and preview the house for a client. She wrote on her card,"Very nice" so that gave us some hope. I am still worried that it is priced a bit high!

Mady and Jonny ran fevers all day and are coughing up mucus and have stopped up noses, etc! I think we all have a nasty cold or virus! We enjoyed the rest of the day together resting as a family. I am enjoying cooking in my kitchen again, I will really really really miss this house!

Mady is enjoying playing dress up with her brother!

I am hoping the kids will stay in their beds all night, but so far, they have only done it once!

God Bless!

Day 84-It's on the Market!

Scripture of the Day: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

Early this morning, Wayne heard the man putting the sign in the yard! Our realtor came over and took pics and approved of all we had done! It's official, we are on the market!

We are taking the rest of the day off! We are all tired and the kid's fevers won't break!

I promise to post pics for all the past few days later tonight!

God Bless!

Day 83-One more day to go....

Scripture of the Day: A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. Proverbs 18:2

Nana left today and we are no on our own! We were all very tired and after going to Wataburger for breakfast, we came home and rested for a bit! The kids both started running low grade fevers and getting stopped up!

We worked a little on the house. Wayne finished the bricks in the back and Mady and Jonny played for awhile back there. Mady came to get me to tell me that Jesus made some pink clouds for her. I got great pics of them and Jesus' pink clouds!

Whether we are ready or not, it is time to put the house on the market!

God Bless!

Day 82-The Big Sale!

Scripture of the Day: ...because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning when God created the world until now--and never to be equaled again. Mark 13:19

Our garage sale was due to begin at 7 and when I went out to move the cars at 5:50, I had a lady pull up and start asking questions! Geesh, I told her to come back at 7! I can't believe all the people that showed up early! While we were putting stuff out, we had a crowd gathered at the edge of the driveway, they just couldn't wait for me to tell them to start, and when I did, it was like a mad stampede! Wish I had gotten a picture of that!

The kids all played and Wayne babysat 6 kids! I was so impressed with all he did today!

We were all tired and glad it was over by 12! We made alot of money and only had one trip to Goodwill, most of our stuff was gone by 10!

After the sale, we had to still work on the house, it is almost over!

We did take the night off to watch a movie with Nana because she has to leave in the morning!

God Bless!

Day 81-Day before the big sale!

Scripture of the Day: From the lips of children and infants, you have ordained praise. Matthew 21:16b

Today is the day before the big garage sale! We got extremely hot out in the garage getting everything set up. The kids all played and ran around, but we got everything done really fast! I am glad it will be over tomorrow!

We worked some more on the house too, it is almost done too! I can't wait for the day when we can all just relax!

God Bless!

Friday, July 25, 2008

Day 80- Let the countdown begin!

Scripture of the Day:

So as of today, we have 5 weeks left in Roswell! I know it will go fast!

I forgot to tell you all that I got a Mommy's night out last night with Sabrina and Sheri! We say Momma Mia and loved it! Brought back a ton of memories of Camille's house and lots of dancing and singing!

But today it was final touches on the garage sale. Unfortunately, we ran out of room, so we will be doing alot of work in the morning! Yikes, 5:30 will come early!

Finishing touches on the house were done and it looks amazing! I am really proud of the work that mom and Wayne have done, they will be the reason we get a good price!

Kids are watching a movie with Daddy right now and I am about to go to bed!

hey wonkies, I miss you guys! can't wait to reconnect!

God Bless!

Day 79

Scripture of the Day:

First, let me say if you plan to move sometime in the future, do not put off all the little things that need to be done! You would have thought we would have learned this lesson with Laredo! We made a mad rush to get the house presentable for the realtor. This is the same lady who sold the house to us and designed it! I can't believe the price we are listing it at, amazing! I know we won't get it, but to think that it might be worth that much is great! She was very impressed with how clean and beautiful everything is. She even bragged to the builder about it!

She gave us hope that it will be shown alot the first two weeks and she also said usually the first offer is the best one! I know she knows her stuff so we trust her alot!

The kids went down to Ms. Sheri's while we finished up and talked to the realtor. We went and got them and then stopped for gas because miracle of all miracles, it is down to 3.99!!! (for those of you in the rest of the country, stop laughing!)

House will officially be on the market on Monday!

God Bless!

Day 78

Scripture of the Day:

Today our friends came over to help get the garage sale stuff set up and priced. We are not waiting to the last minute due to all the stuff we have. I can't believe how much we have gotten rid of and I am very proud of us. As the house is transformed, we are loving the declutteredness of it! We all agree that we have too much stuff and are not going to accummulate this stuff again!

After our friends left, we continued painting and working on the backyard. Tomorrow will be here before we know it and our realtor is due to come and price it at 2~

So, back to work....

God Bless!

Day 77

Scripture of the Day:

Today we worked some more on the house. We are biting off a little more than we can chew by trying to finish by Thursday and have a garage sale too. This will be a long day. Not much to report, just working on the bedrooms and bathrooms and doing touch ups. Mady and Jonny are starting to adjust to the house again, they really love their room with the new beds. I know I keep forgetting to take pics of them.

God Bless!

Monday, July 21, 2008

Day 76

Scripture of the Day:

Today, daddy was at work and then called to say that our move was funded, which means we are moving! I talked to a very anal retentive property manager in DC who was annoyed that we couldn't get there to see properties! I think we are not moving to Kansas.....

It was a pretty good day, our friends came over to help mark items for the garage sale on Saturday. Then, the kids took a nap and we went and got ice-cream. Not alot of work got done today, but I know with daddy around tomorrow, we will get alot done!

God Bless!

Day 75

Scripture of the Day: Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ...Philippians 1:27

Nana got popsicles for the kids so I am sure there will be some great pics later! We are about to finish the bathroom and kitchen today and then will move on to the bedroom and laundry. We are saving the main living area for last. Wayne has to go back to work tomorrow for a little while, but that will give him a great break!

God Bless!

Day 74

Scripture of the Day: Grace be with all who have an undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:24

This was a very very hot day, I had forgotten how hot Roswell can get! We are still in the process of cleaning and painting. Half the house is done, and it looks great, but the other half is in dire need of work! The outside front is done, but the back still looks like a battle ground! More work, but Daddy did get in a nice long nap, I know he needed it.

We had Mexican food for dinner and Jon was so cute and sat at the table eating chips and hot sauce by himself!

God Bless!

Day 73

Scripture of the Day: The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1

We are still working on the house, but losing steam. This has been a very hard day, lots of painting and cleaning out. We are beginning the kitchen and master bath! Alot harder than I thought, why do people make so many corners. Because of the position of the house, we paint in the bathroom in the morning and the kitchen in the late afternoon. Mady and Jonny are starting to settle into a routine. The Moody family stopped by to visit and I know that Daddy liked talking to his friend again!

God Bless!

Day 72-Happy Anniversary!

Scripture of the Day: Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:5-6

Today is our 15th year anniversary. Now, I know that is great and we should be doing something special, but again, we are on a deadline. We started the day babysitting Sheri's kids and all the kids had a great time. In fact, having the extra 3 around made our lives easier, because they entertained themselves!!!! We got alot more done today and will post pics of the kids side of the house, Nana has done a great job!

Our date tonight was going to Home Depot and picking out the rest of our light fixtures. We got everything we needed for the rest of the house. Wayne is doing a great job as an electrician, and we especially love the one in the hallway!

Tonight, hopefully, we will get to sleep in our room for the first time by ourselves! The kids have new beds and bedding in their own room!

Will let you know!

God Bless!

Day 71-Working Wednesday

Scripture of the Day: Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12

We are still working on the house, more painting and fixing and more painting! Nothing very exciting going on, we are really trying to get everything done, have a feeling orders will come before we are ready. Oh, we did wash all of Mady's bedding, it is so cute! Mady and Jonny will be in the same room until we move and maybe they will just stay together for awhile! Jon loves his big sister!

God Bless!

Day 70-Stormy Tuesday

Scripture of the Day: Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. 1 Corninthians 16:13

Nana asked today if it was monsoon season here, funny! I have no idea why it is raining so much, maybe God is taking pitty on our grass! We have dead grass which needs alot of water. We also have a ton of peaches!!! Yipppeeee!

Rough day, but we got Mady's Little Mermaid bedding today and spent some Nana, mommy and Mady time! It was fun! We spoiled her, but she is having a really hard time and needed alot of loving attention! It was fun!

Tonight, the kids played outside while Daddy worked and Mommy painted Mady's room! We had bean and cheese burritos for dinner! Yummy!

God Bless!

Day 69-Daddy back to work!

Scripture of the Day: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Daddy went back to work today. It was very quiet without him. He had alot of important decsions to make about our move. We will be going back to Oakwood for a month. That is a good thing since we are all comfortable there and it will give us time to look for a place. Mommy and Daddy called each other alot today, think we missed each other?

Kids missed Daddy too. Jonny came in the door looking all over for him! We went shopping and got Jon's Cars bedding and then at night, mommy and daddy got his big boy bed! He loved it!

We all went to sleep in the same room!

God Bless!

DAy 68-Painting Day again...

Scripture of the Day: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angel nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38

We wanted to go to church today, but unfortunately, we are on a deadline! So maybe next week. The kids are having trouble adjusting to the house, they still think of Oakwood as their home and want to go back to it. The house is torn apart, being painted and decluttered.

Not much happening today, we were supposed to go to Annabelle's party, but Mommy was not feeling good, too much painting.

God Bless!

Day 67

Scripture of the Day: And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those hho love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We will be painting and cleaning out the garage today. Nana will be entertaining the kids and helping cook and fold all the mountains of laundry. Mady was happy to get to sleep in the big bed with Mommy and Daddy, I forgot how nice our bed is!

Our friends will hopefully come and play too!

Will post pics later!

God Bless!

Day 66-And the work begins...

Scripture of the Day: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 7:23

Wayne and I got up this morning and hit the ground running. He and the kids worked on the front yard, while I worked on the laundry pile. I left for my doc appointment, came back and started painting. The kids are loving playing outside so that is good. Mady is ready for the space grass again she says. Our friends came over while Wayne and the kids were working on the backyard. Mady and Jonny loved seeing all the kids and playing with them! Mommy loved seeing her girlfriends!

Nana showed up bearing dress up clothes and cars and lots of help! We ate dinner and then went to bed early!

God Bless!

Day 65-San Angelo to Roswell

Scripture of the Day: But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. Romans 2:8

We made it home to Roswell. First, after a very tiring night, we got up and ate breakfast and packed the car one last time! We were all super tired! Mady was in a rotten mood and hit Jon and screamed, etc! Ah, the joys of being three! We went and saw our Aunt Lee for some paint and then met Pappy, Gran, and K'Lynn at the park to eat and play. We are not used to the humidity. After a long 5 hour drive, we arrived home. I cannot tell you how I feel right now. It is very weird. We have been gone so long that it feels like we are coming home to a new house! I got used to that apartment and the city. It is very quiet and no sirens!

We are going to enjoy the time here with our friends and family, but boy do we have a ton of work to do! I have collected way too much stuff and it is time to stop! So, we are getting rid of most everything!

I can't sleep I am anxious to get started!

God Bless!

Day 64-Houston to San Angelo

Scripture of the Day: Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce...Proverbs 3:9

We were so excited to get up and get that much closer to home. We stopped in Llano to see Grandpa and it was so nice to see them! Mommy finally got to eat at Coopers and that was the best bbq I have had! Too many ribs though!

We took some great pics and played with dogs then got in the car for the 2 hour drive to Angelo. It was a long drive. We got to the hotel and while we were waiting for Daddy to check in, Jon peed all over mommy! That was fun!

We all got changed and then went to Pappy's house where the kids rode bikes and played outside. Went to Henry's steakhouse to eat dinner and then came back and played more. Kids were happy to play with their cousin!

We got to the hotel really really late and are very tired and happy!

God Bless!

Day 63-Jackson to Houston

Scripture of the Day: His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:3

This was another long day of driving, but very pretty. We drove through Mississippi and Louisiana to get to Houston. I was suprised at how easy it was to drive through Houston. Got to see Lakewood Church and really wanted to see Beth Moore's but I am satisfied to see Lakewood.

We stopped and played with Granny for awhile. We love the place she lives in and the kids had a great time playing in the dirt out front. Granny is doing good and we miss her alot. It was so good to see her and we plan to go back soon!

Our hotel was a long way away and after several detours, we eventually got there. This was a much nicer one than the one in Jackson. The kids curled up in their pull out bed and read stories then fell asleep! Mommy and Daddy got their own bed!!!!!!

We are getting closer to home!!

God Bless!

Day 62-Knoxville to Jackson

Scripture of the Day:

Wow, this was a long day too! I am already tired of driving and so are Mady and Jonny. They are swimming with Daddy right now. We all swam for a little while, but I am tired and wanted to update on our progress. The kids are doing pretty good, they do get tired. All three took a long nap today so it was peaceful for about 2 hours!

I love MS! It is beautiful too! The hotel is nice and the pool was fun too, but I am ready to get home to my big bed!

We really didn't stop and see anything today except for a couple of truckstops! Jon did use the big potty though!

Okay, so our tour of Cracker Barrels will continue in the morning!

God Bless!

Tomorrow, it is on to Houston, TX!

Sunday, July 6, 2008

Day 61-On the Road Sunday 7-6-08

Scripture of the Day: Those who walk uprightly enter into peace...Isaiah 57:2

We are furiously packing up the rest of our stuff! Heading out in a little while to travel 7 hours to Knoxville!

Okay, the drive to Knoxville took more like 10! We had to stop in Lexington, VA though to check out the Stonewall Jackson House and see the grave of General Lee! Lexington is beautiful and quiet, maybe the future retirement spot of Wayne and Steph. Mady and Jonny can go to college there! Anyways, we took an hour to walk around and soak up the history!

Then we drove and drove and drove. We got there at 10 and took baths and fell into bed. It was a long and hard day, I thought we would never get the car packed! The kids were sad to leave but happy to know that they will be seeing their family!

Last post from DC!!!!!!! Be back in 2 months!!!

God Bless!

Oh, to my wonkies, I miss you guys!!!!

Day 60-Saturday, last day in DC!

Scripture of the Day: Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16

Our last day in DC!!! And wow, we were busy! We got up, and decided to try and eat breakfast at our favorite Corner Bakery in the National Press Building, but it was packed, so we ate at Au Bon Pain. Then we went up to Daddy's office and got boxes, etc. We looked at the view from the 14th floor and had fun!

We drove home and let the kids play for awhile before taking off again to run errands and start packing! We had lunch at our favorite Pei Wei and then drove by some townhomes.

Finally, we packed up some more stuff and took it down to Steve and Ellens! We had a great visit with them and then got home late! After baths, kids went to bed, I worked some more and then went to bed!

God Bless!

Day 59- Happy July 4th!

Scripture of the Day: For by grace given me, I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Romans 12:3

We woke up and decided to hit the ground running, while watching the skies for the thunderstorms that they said were coming! We ate some breakfast and then went over to the national mall. We had to go through a security checkpoint, they had the whole area sealed off and so was the areas around the monuments and white house. We got in and then made our way to the Folklife Festival and ate some tex-mex which the kids love and we had bbq which mommy and daddy love!

After that, we decided to play in the grass and wait for the parade. We had to watch the parade pretty far back because we were in the secure area and didn't want to leave and people were everywhere! Alot more people than the Memorial Day one!

We watched for awhile and then played in the grass. On the way back up to the Metro, we stopped at Freedome Fest, which was a group of Christians spreading the word of God. They had games for the kids, a puppet show, etc! They were right across the street from the Hare Krishnas who were doing their thing. We didn't want to walk through that, so we came home!

The train was crowded and by the time we got home, we were tired and ready for a nap! We ended up not going back to the fireworks, but walking down the street and watching them there. Had a great view of the monument from Crystal City!

God Bless!

Day 58

Scripture of the Day: But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. Galatians 5:6

I still can't believe we are almost leaving to go home! Even if it is for a short time, yipppeeeee! Today, we went to the Space Grass for the last time, just mommy and the kids. We played in the grass for awhile and then decided to go to the Space Museum to look at the planes.

That didn't last long at all. The kids are extra tired for some reason today, I think Hannah wore them out yesterday for me!

We came home, ate some lunch and then Jon took a nap. Daddy was really really really late coming home, so the kids were in bed before he walked in the door. But, he is home and it was his last day at work here!

Coming home soon!

God Bless!

Day 57

Scripture of the Day: O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8

I am up way too early today, but we are getting excited. I packed our car with a ton of stuff to take to Ellen's today and after lunch we are will be off to visit her and make a mess in her basement!

We had a good discussion of our plan for the next couple of months and again, I am always amazed at the grace of God in a time like this. I am at total peace, no nervousness at all, just contentment and peace. I am not worried about selling our house or getting it done or anything!

The kids and I will clean up the apartment for the maid today and work on our ABCs. Jon just got up, it's 6:45 and time to start!

God Bless!

Day 56

Scripture of the Day: You are my God and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you. Psalm 118:28

I woke up today and started the packing process not knowing that this would be a different day! We are on our last few days here! We got the call we have been waiting for. Wayne will be an Achief in DC starting September 14th. We have to go home and sell a house after we work our tails off!

So the kids and I have been cleaning and packing today, getting ready to take stuff to Steve and Ellen's (thank you guys!) We will be leaving Saturday or Sunday, Sunday at the latest!

I am very thankful today for the time we have had here, it hasn't been easy, but we made it through! I am thankful that we have good friends to go back too and that Mady and Jonny will get a couple of months of playing in before we come back! I am thankful for my family and the time I have had with my kids! And, I am thankful for my hard working hubby to get us here!

Will post pic another day!

God Bless!
