Day 139-Monday 9-22/Day 144 Sat 9-27

Scripture of the Day: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103: 11-12

This was a pretty uneventful week for us. Not much going on. Daddy worked alot and we ate at home most nights. The kids and I ran errands and played at the mall. There were more small kids than there used to be, so we didn't stay there long. Had to get Mady some warmer clothes too.

On Saturday, we got up and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, yum! Then we came back to DC and went to the Jefferson and walked around. I found a parking lot right by the memorial and around the corner, is a beautiful memorial to George Mason on of the signers of the Virginia Declaration.

We came back to the apartment to nap. Later that evening, we went to Joe's Crabshack to eat and Uncle Bill called to let us know he was home, so we ate and went and picked him up!

He stayed with us for awhile and then the boys took him back to his hotel.

It was a great day!

Day 138 Sunday 9-21

Scripture of the Day:

Today we went to see a couple of townhome possiblities. Both looked great on the internet.

The first one was blue on the outside and pretty. On the inside, it smelled like cinnamon air freshner and was pretty dark. It had three levels and no bathroom in the basement area. We liked the yard and the cul-de-sac location, but the bedrooms and kitchen were tiny!

The second was the one I really liked and it was perfect. Very clean with beautiful hard woods, new carpet and paint. There is new tile in the basement too! It was originally $400 more than what we got it for, so we are lucky. It is in a great area too! All the shopping is very close and there is even a Civil War site close by!

We went home to compare the two and make a decision!

Days 130-137 Sat-Sat

Scripture of the Day:


Well this was our first week home... and it was not very hard getting used to being back in DC. We didn't ride the Metro as much as we used too, we have to walk a few blocks and it is just easier to drive with the kids.

On Sunday, the hottest day, we went to the White House park, it was so hot and humid, a storm was coming. They were having some kind of ceremony for a visiting dignitary and it was fun to watch, till Mady decided she needed to go home. That was by far the longest Metro ride, there was no air on the train and it was stiffling!

On Monday, Daddy went to work and we went to the zoo. It was busy there, but we had a good time. I hurt my foot and had a hard time walking on it. The kids were tired, so we grabbed some Micky Ds and came home to rest.

Tuesday, we stayed home all day and rested and made some awesome beef in the crockpot

The rest of the week, we didn't do much, so there isn't much to tell, we are still very tired and overwhelmed from the move. I know it will get better with time. Still worried about our house selling, but I know God will take care of it when it is time!

Day 129-Our first day home!

Scripture of the Day: ...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:8

It is a rainy day, which is good, because we are all too tired to go exploring. Believe it or not, the kids just want to stay in the apartment and play. I think all the upheaval has made them just want a day at home! So we are having an at home day. Daddy is napping and the kids are playing and I am finally caught up with laundry and the blog! Whew!!!!!!

DAy 128-Arrival Day and 7th Anniversary of 9/11

Scripture of the Day: And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts nad minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

I can't believe we are arriving on such a sad and historic date. Today, the Pentagon is unvieling it's memorial to the public at 7 pm. God Bless all of the families who lost loved ones and to those who are fighting for our country! This is truly a sad day for all...

We got to the new apartment and fell instantly in love....with the view! I can't believe how awesome it is!




This is the view from our 7th story, it is a rainy and hazy day, but you can still see downtown DC!
We unloaded and ate and then went to sleep, not much to report today!

Day 127-Nashville to Christiansburg, VA

Scripture of the Day: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

This was a long long day. The day started off pretty bad with Daddy and Jonny getting wacked by the luggage cart. Daddy was in pain and had a hard time driving. We stopped often and played.

We ate a Cracker Barrel and it was tasty. Then we drove and drove and drove. I find it funny that the 2 times we have stayed in Christiansburg, it has been cold. But the room was very nice and the best breakfast we had yet! No swimming tonight!

Day 126-Little Rock to Nashville

Scripture of the Day: Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Philippians 4:5

This was another relatively short driving day. I am so excited to eat some Memphis bbq! The drive was beautiful, especially into Tennessee! We got to Memphis and ate at the Neely's restaurant. Part restaurant and bar, it was some of the best bbq I have had! Rivals Coopers in Llano! I even got the shirt. These are the people on Food Network, Pat and Gina Neely. So after we wobbled out, we left to go to Nashville.

We got to Nashville and had to switch rooms 3 times, they first too were smoky! It was bad. The kids and Wayne swam and then we went to forage for food. We ate at the Hard Rock in downtown, great place for a date! Kids loved it too! The food is always great there and each one of the kids got a shirt!





Bed time early tonight so we can drive our long day tomorrow!

Day 125-Dallas to Little Rock

Scripture of the Day: ...so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generateion, in which you shine like stars in the universe...Philippians 2:15

Thank goodness for Cracker Barrels. We love them and eat at them all the way across country. We know they are clean and good food! So, we started the day with breakfast, then a little horse petting, driving and lunch at Cracker Barrel!

There were horses right behind the hotel and Mady and I fell in love! There was a little mare who let us pet her to our hearts content!

We had our first Cracker Barrel in Texarkana and it was yummy! Then we stopped at the cleanest rest area I have ever seen! Purple granite in the restrooms! We made it to the hotel and it was older but nice. It was in Northern Little Rock.

We had dinner at the neatest place called Cock on the Walk. They specialized in catfish and the best we have had. The restaurant had a pond stocked with fish and the grounds were beautiful! I don't think I have been that full in a long time!






Another great and safe day of travel!

Day 124-Lubbock to Dallas

Scripture of the Day: Do everything without complaining or arguing..Philippians 2:14

We got up today and drove to Dallas. We were excited to see the Belknap family, so we drove fast. We got there and called Auntie Camille and we went to play while Daddy recouperated! It was so much fun watching Joshy and Jonny play! We even got to play Guitar Hero and now we want a Wii really bad!

After dinner and play at Burger King, we said our goodbyes and went back to the hotel to sleep! This was a nice one and we all slept so good! The drive wasn't too bad and we didn't get that tired. Kids didn't ask for a movie once!

Days 117-123

Scripture of the day:If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Wow, am I behind, but it is hard to blog and move! So here I am a few days (weeks) later trying to remember the past weeks! We left on Sunday the 31st to go back to Roswell and prepare for the movers. Nana and Doodah gave us a huge couch that we loaded up and drove back to Roswell. We love the couch and now can't wait to get settled so we can all snuggle on it!

Nana stayed for a day helping me get ready and seperate our stuff that was going with us. On tuesday, she left and Daddy went back to work. We didn't do much but tried to enjoy our last day before the movers hit! It was so nice to just lay around and do nothing.

Wednesday, the movers hit bright and early and by lunch our kitchen was packed up and so was the garage. These were the fastest guys I have ever seen. They had just about the whole house done by 8 that night.

Thursday, Daddy was at home to watch and they finished packing and then started to load the truck. We were exhausted by the time it was over! We knew it was the last night in our house. We watched the last night of the DNC and then called it a night.

Friday, the movers came and finished up. We got a room at the Fairfield and finished working on our house. It was so hard by this point to be there. Too many great memories....

Saturday, we went and grabbed the rest of our stuff, finished cleaning and loaded up and drove to Lubbock. We were all exhausted, but had a great time in Lubbock driving through the campus and we ate at Texas Land and Cattle. The kids and Daddy swam while Mommy rested. A very very long week, but it is almost over and we are about to begin an exciting chapter!

So there is moving week in a nutshell, I think I have blocked out the bad memories and have only kept the good. While we were sad to leave the house, we know that someone will come along and buy it and love it as much as we did!
