Day 116-Saturday 8-30-08

Scripture of the Day: For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futil and their foolish hearts were darkened. Romans 1:21

We went to Llano to visit Grandpa and Nini yesterday, I can't even begin to describe what a heavenly experience this was. First, just to eat at Coopers again and have some of the best bbq on the planet! Then, we finally got the kids their own pairs of Justins (Mady red and Jon a special pair that few can wear.) Grandpa bought them hats, and Mady wouldn't take off her red boots and pink hat, we smell a future PRCA barrel racer in the family!

We went to Grandpa's ranch and played with Jake dog, it was so great to see the other member of the family! He looked great and was so happy to see us too! Grandpa and Nini had made cupcakes for Mady's birthday and we had a celebration. Then Daddy, Grandpa and the kids went to look for Chico the mule and the cows! I have't seen a grin on Mady's face like that in ages! She was in hog heaven!

We went to Nini's after that and swam in the Llano river till a storm came up. She has a beautiful place that is so peaceful. We ate dinner and listened to the rain on the tin roof.

Again, yesterday, I had a taste of heaven and it is hard to leave. But I pray that one day, God will send us home where we can carve out our own piece of heaven on earth!

God Bless!

P.S. Please be praying for my high school classmate, Cherie, as her family evacuates New Orleans again in the path of Gustav.

Day 102-115

Scripture of the Day: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds,
And I will write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
And they shall be My people. Hebrews 8:13

Wow, I haven't done this in awhile. I am to far behind to go back and add, but sometimes life just gets soooooo crazy this is what happens! In the past couple of weeks, we have gone to San Angelo to see my MIL and my dad. Wayne got sick with what the quack doc thinks was strep throat, but the doc wished he had done a throat culture to be sure of this! Hum......

We came back exhausted with a sick daddy. The week we spent at home was hard. It is hard leaving a community that has been so good to us. I have made some of the best friends I have ever made and I got really comfortable really fast. It is suprising to me how deep of roots I put down there. I also really love our house. It is bright and spacious and was good home for us. The kids love running around in it and we love rocking on the back porch. I am happy to go back to Virginia, but I am sad to leave so many that we love behind.

So by the end of the week, I had had enough of cleaning a house and moping around. We got in the car last friday and escaped to Nana's. She and Doodah have taken good care of us and have allowed us to recouperate and rest up! Mady got sick from her measles vaccine and threw up every night for the first few nights! If it wasn't for Nana, I would have gone mad! We also love the Austin area and everything about the hill country. The first few days, Doo-dah made us some great bbq! He can really smoke some wonderful meat. I remember Saturday, I think I was in a fog, tired and confused. It is always good to take a break. The kids are back to normal too and for the first time in a long long time, my daughter is laughing and playing and eating like a horse!

We are going back on Sunday, I have mixed feelings about this. I know it will be hard on us all to go through the move. But, we have a mini vacation driving across the US. We get to see Auntie Camille in Dallas first and then we can swim every night too! We only have about 5-6 hours in the car per day, so much easier than coming back.

I will add pictures later and my scripture. I am happy to say that God really has pulled me out of this fog and put me back into the real world.

God Bless you all!

Day 101

Scripture of the Day: And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. Hebrews 8:15

Today, we woke up and went to the park to play with Grandmama. The kids love the huge park off of Bryant. It got hot quickly, and Jon needed a change, so we came back and changed his diaper and then ate at Rosas. A good bean and cheese was all momma needed to set her stomach straight!

I have no idea what we will do the rest of the day, the kids are taking a good nap! It is hot, we are not used to this heat! We may swim!

God Bless!

Day 100-To San Angelo

Scripture of the Day: Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11

We got up and cleaned up the house and got on the road. The main road out of Roswell was closed due to an accident, so we had to go through Artesia to Midland to San Angelo. It was a long drive! We got to the hotel and Grandmama met us there to go swimming. We have 2 fish for kids and they both swim very well!

After swimming, we went and grabbed a bite at Chick fil A then came back to the hotel to color some before bed! Mady is loving her new Disney notebook and she writes and draws in it all day long!

God Bless!

Day 99

Scripture of the Day: For the word of God is livig and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints na dmarrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the hear. Hebrews 4:12

We got great feedback from the realtor's tour. Everyone said the house was beautiful and they couldn't believe it was 10 years old. While they were viewing the house, we went to the Carlsbad caverns. It was awesome and we had a great time! Kids loved the cave! I got some great pictures of them in there. It took a little over an hour to hike down to the bottom, but well worth it.

After the cave, we came back home and rested and packed to go to San Angelo. We will be there for 4 days and it will be so nice not to have to get up and clean the house!

God Bless!

Day 98-That was some storm last night....

Scripture of the Day: (will add one later)

We had a heck of a storm last night. It even blew down the large tree out front. I can't believe everytime it seems we sell a house, we get a bad storm! Wayne cleaned up the litter and got everything ready outside. He did one last trip to the dump and we have no officially removed all the trash from our house and all the cactus we can!

The kids and I met our friends at the park for some fun! It was so nice to get out of the house for awhile and not have to worry about fixing something! After their naps, we went to Ms. Sheri's house to play for awhile. No one came to see the house today, but the realtor tour is tomorrow and our realtor thinks things will pick up once they see it! Who knows, it is all in God's hands!

Sheri came over later on and we got some greenery at Walmart and she made the most beautiful centerpiece for the table! I got a great pic of her working on it! It looks stunning from the door! I can't wait for people to see it tomorrow, we have worked really hard and I think it shows!

Say some prayers for us....

God Bless!

Day 97-Donut Day

Scripture of the Day: (will add one later)

Wayne woke up early and started working on some more cactus removal outside. The new owners of this house have no idea all the hard work that we have put into getting rid of all the dangerous cactus for them! Should leave them pics, right? The boys also went and got donuts for us, we know we shouldn't but they are yummy!

Mady painted a beautiful birdhouse today, she loves loves loves doing art projects! I think we have another crafter on our hands! We had a great day of painting and I finally fixed the closet and got the smell out!

One more day till the realtors tour, be praying for someone to sell this house for us!

God Bless!

Day 96-Sat

Scripture of the Day: (will add one later)

Today we kind of worked on the house and kind of just took it easy. The boys took a heck of a nap! Not much to report and no pictures of our day today, seems I always forget on Saturdays, oh well!

God Bless!

Day 95-8-8-08

Scripture of the Day: For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4

Today, I think we finally have 2 well kids! Yipppeeee! No fevers, coughing, and they both seem to be in a great mood. We all got some sleep last night, and I think that was a humongous help! Jon has even used the potty for me this morning!

The house is ready just in case someone wants to see it. We had a showing last night at 5:30 and the people stayed for some time, but so far, we have heard nothing.

The kids and I are going to play this morning and then take a nap.

See you later!

God Bless!

Day 94-Sick Kid's Day

Scripture of the Day: The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone. Psalm 118:22

I was up all night with sick kids. First, Mady. She was running a high fever last night, at last check 102.8. I stayed awake trying to cool her down and make sure she got tylenol and motrin. Then Wayne came in and said Jon wouldn't sleep, so I had to stay awake with him the rest of the night! He didn't want to sleep and just kept trying to go and wake up Daddy and Mady. He wanted juice, the tv on/off and just wanting to play. I am glad he is better, but I am tired!

More on this day later, breakfast is ready!

God Bless!

Day 93

Scripture of the Day: Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Mark 11:9

Mady woke up telling me she didn't feel good, so she laid on the couch all morning and watched cartoons. She didn't eat anything at all for breakfast either. Jon was feeling better and wanted to play, but he got tired out pretty easily. I got up and did my usual "getting the house ready" chores, but no one came to see the house.

By the afternoon, the kids were both feeling much better. Mady was trying to make a "kitty" bed for Jon in the bookshelves, hence the pic of him in the bookshelf. I know he looks small, but he has grown!

I got to make my first card since being back, and I am very proud of it. Nana brought me some beautiful K&Co paper and embellishments, so I hope you all like the pic! I have such a great time making them!

Hopefully, the kids will all go to bed early tonight so they will get better!

God Bless!

Day 92

Scripture of the Day: The voice spoke fro heaven a second time, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.' Acts 10:9

Jon has an ear infection. His ear drum swelled up and now is draining and that is why he has been crying non-stop all night! We got some antibiotics and ear drops that we have to use for a week. He should be feeling better by tomorrow. He does not like the ear drops, so it takes 2 of us to get them in!

He slept and cried all day. But, by evening, he finally felt better to eat some yogurt! He actually slept all night too! No fever!

No one came to see the house today either. I guess that is a good thing since Jon is so sick!

God Bless!

Day 91-Jon is Sick

Scripture of the Day: David said about him: "'I saw the Lod always before me. Because he is at my righ thand, I will not be shaken.'" Acts 2:25

Jon kept us up all night running fever and being miserable. This morning, he told me his ear hurt! Mady seems to be doing much better though. We went and had lunch at a BBQ restaurant because they had $1 chopped beef, and Jon slept on Daddy the whole time. We decided to drive up to Riudoso so he would sleep, and he did. It was so nice up in the mountains. The temp dropped 30 degrees and it was raining and beautiful. We are planning on going back to let the kids play at the Billy the Kid museum.

We got back and no one came to see the house. Oh well, hopefully they will soon! Jon hasn't eaten and all he wants to do is sleep. He is going to the doc tomorrow, so hopefully we will get some meds!

God Bless!

Day 90-Peachy Sunday

Scripture of the Day:

(My bible is in the bedroom and Wayne is sleeping, so will add it later!)

Today, we were lazy! Kids were much better today, but they needed some rest. Can't believe we all slept so late, but we did. We worked around the house today and played.

In the evening, we finally picked a bunch of peaches off of our tree. I have a great pic of Mady holding her stash! They are good peaches! Someone will be very lucky next year!

God Bless!

Day 89-????

Scripture of the Day: For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 1 Chronicles 16:25

I think we are all finally getting better. Mommy and Jonny seem to have alot of drainage, but we all still sound like we are stopped up. We should be working on the house today, but I think we might take a little day trip as a family!

Will let you all know what we did later!

Have a great day and God Bless!

Day 88

Scripture of the Day: Look to the lord and his strength; seek his face always. 1 Chronicles 16:11

Today is a very slow day. I figured no one would come and see the house on Friday. The kids are very stopped up still and my throat is hurting really good. The kids have played with Model Magic today and built legos.

I finally got both kids down for a nap, first time in 2 weeks that they both went to sleep and what do you think happened next? A realtor called from "around the corner" and wanted to show our house. She gave me some time, I got the house ready and grabbed up the sleeping kids and left. The people I don't think liked the house, they were there for maybe 10 minutes, but just seeing them, I could tell this was way too much house for them.

We had crabby patties for dinner and then for the first time too, the kids went to bed without throwing fits and they slept all night in their beds! Yippppeeeeee! Now, if I could just fix Wayne's snoring.....

God Bless!

Day 87-We survived the first showing!

Scripture of the Day: He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue. Proverbs 28:23

We had our first showing this morning. We survived it, even though Mommy was sick as a dog! Kids were very behaved and sat on the couch while I ran around and cleaned. I wasn't stressed, just very tired. Apparently, I have a stomach virus and my throat is starting to hurt. All of us are suffering from allergies!

Anyways, we left the house and drove around. Came home and got the rest of the day off! I am hoping that it will pick up a little more. I am trying not to worry!

Today was a good day though, we are loving being back in the house!

God Bless!
